About John

John Hall creates contemporary assemblage sculptures and mixed media works, weaving foraged natural elements with urban salvage to explore memory, fragility, and the shifting boundary between nature and industry.

Living in settings as diverse as the streets of New York City, the beaches of Florida, the prairies of Kansas, and the mountains of Arizona, John often connects the seemingly unconnected in exciting new ways.

Testimonials

2025

One of John’s robot lamp assemblages transformed my living room, turning wood and golf clubs into a bright focal point visitors always ask about.

2025

Two of the “Spoonbill” birds John created gracefully guard our orchids with fine lines and a bit of humor. I smile every time I see them.

2026

I bought John’s “Kintsugi” sculpture at a gallery for my husband’a 5th anniversary gift. The interplay of wood, light, and shadow changes throughout the day and never feels static.

2023

I asked John to create a box specifically designed for my crochet needles. The reclaimed walnut and maple is beautiful and just what I wanted.
